Removing partitions icons from Ubuntu desktop

After I completed my specific installation of dual system, I found out that Ubuntu had automatically put on my desktop two icons for the Windows partitions. I did not find it very much comfortable to have direct links to the system files, which I could accidentally harm. So I did:
- open up gconf-editor (hit alt+f2 and type in gconf-editor);
- go down to apps > nautilus > desktop and uncheck the box next to "volumes visible";
- close the editor;
- In order to have an active icon of the My Documents partition of Windows XP, right click on an empty space on desktop > Create Launcher > Choose in "Type" Location > and write the full path to the partition in Location field, "/media/sd5" in my case.
