Hardy Heron supports NTFS by default

Google for Ubuntu and NTFS and you will find tons of different instructions on how to setup NTFS support in Ubuntu (and generally Linux systems). But none of them mentions (at least for now), that Ubuntu 8.04 to be launched in about a month, will support NTFS write and read functions by default!
Indeed, until recently NTFS Partition Support for Linux was a real headache. After release of ntfs-3g project on the 14th of July 2006, which provided full read/write support for NTFS partition, it became possible to install this excellent program from Ubuntu repositories. Still you had to spend quite some time at command line to install and configure it in right way.
But there is no more need to worry about making NTFS partitions on your disk by Ubuntu - NTFS read and write support is now enabled by default with Ubuntu 8.04!

Yeah but it doesn't mount them automatically you have to click on the drive first. There is an easy way to make it auto mount by changing a file to automount enable, but I can't find the darn thing.
